Hon’ble Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan Ji was the chief guest of the programme and it is conducted under the chairmanship of Dr. Karunakara Trivedi, Chairman, Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust. Ms. Kavita Patidar, Chairperson of Zila Panchayat, Dr. Anupam Mishra, Director, ATARI, Jabalpur, Dr. V.S. Bhatia, Director, IISR, Indore, Dr. S.K. Srivastava, Director Extension Services, RVSKVV, Gwalior and Shri Purushottam Dhakad, Chairman, District Agriculture Standing Committee, Indore were also present as special guests.
"Let's all of us resolve today that we will double the agriculture income by 2022". Hon’ble Lok Sabha Speaker and Chief Guest, Smt. Sumitra Mahajan expressed these words on the occasion of the foundation stone of Administrative Building of Krishi Vigyan Kendra and Naya Bharat Manthan : Sankalp se Siddhi programme organized on 29.08.2017. Emphasizing on the use of modern technology and information communication technology in agriculture, She said that their use will be helpful in increasing agricultural production. With this, she said that first of all, farmers have to take a resolution in their mind to double their own agricultural income. She further expressed that the activities and works of KVK will run smoothly by getting new building.
Dr. Anupam Mishra, Director, ATARI, Jabalpur, explained in detail about the contributions made by KVKs for agriculture in the state and explained the strategy about the role of KVKs for doubling the income of agriculture by the year 2022.
On the occasion, Dr. Karunakara Trivedi, the Chairman of Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust informed during the introduction of the institution that Kasturba Trust has been working for the overall development of rural women and children since 1945.While highlighting the activities of Kasturba Trust, he gave detailed information about the main activities of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and convinced that our Krishi Vigyan Kendra will continue transferring agricultural technologies among the farmers of the district with full efficiency.
On this occasion, Ms. Kavita Patidar, Chairperson of Jila Panchayat, talked about the work done for water conservation under the guidance of the respected Sumitra Mahajanji in his remarks and said that as a result, the water level of the district has been increased.
On this occasion, an exhibition related to improved agriculture technologies was also organized by the 32 KVKs of Madhya Pradesh.
Scientists and officials of IISR, Indore, Regional Research Center for Wheat, College of Agriculture, Department of Farmers Welfare and Agricultural Development, Department of Agricultural Engineering, ATMA Indore, Department of Horticulture, IISS, Bhopal and KVKS of different districts participated along with approximately 1040 farmers of 22 villages of the district.
The program was conducted by Sanjeev Kuleshretha and Smt. Lata Shrivastava, the Secretary of Kasturba Trust, paid the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Dr. S.R.K.Singh Principal Scientist, ATARI, Jabalpur with support of KVK Indore team.
