“Sankalp Se Siddhi” was conducted by KVK, ICAR-IISR, LucknowIn view of fulfilling dream of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for doubling the farmers income by the year 2022 adopting seven point programme on agriculture and allied sector development, a programme on “Sankalp Se Siddhi” was conducted by KVK, ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow in which the Chief Guest, Shri Kaushal Kishore, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Mohanlalganj took the oath of doubling the farmers income by the year 2022. On this occasion, Sh. Kishore urged the farmers to make his/her every sincere efforts for making the India self reliance in agriculture. He emphasized on increasing will power and targeting the objective of increasing the farm income. Highlighting the importance of animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries in increasing the farmers income, Sh. Devendra Chaudhary, Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India urged the farmers to implement 100% artificial insemination, in-vitro fertilization, embryo transplantation and balanced feeding for animals.

Dr. A.D.Pathak, Director, ICAR-IISR welcomed the guests and participants and discussed the salient achievements of the Institute. He informed that IISR has signed a MoU with DSCL Sugar for doubling the income of the sugarcane farmers in the selected villages under the sugar mill command areas of DSCL Sugar. Dr. S. Rajan, Director, ICAR-CISH highlighted the importance of role of horticultural crops in intensive farming and diversification and adopting post-harvesting technology and value addition. Sh. Sudhir M. Bobade, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Govt of Uttar Pradesh emphasized on commercial backyard poultry farming and increasing the productivity of animals by adopting animal welfare schemes.

Conducting the programme, Dr. S.N. Singh, Principal Scientist (Agronomy) and Head, KVK, Lucknow highlighted seven point strategies for doubling the income of the farmers. A video on Prime Minister’s Seven Point Programme was also shown to the participants. Dr. Singh also proposed vote of thanks to all. On this occasion, more than 600 farmers of Lucknow, Scientists and Technical Officers of Lucknow located ICAR Institutes, officers of State Government and Govt. of India were present. Eminent personalities who were present includes Sh. Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India; Dr. Sudhir Raizada, ADG (Fisheries), ICAR; Dr. A.N.
