Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Union Minister of State for Finance inaugurated a one day programme on New India Manthan “Sankalp se Siddhi” organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bareilly today.

In his address, the Minister briefed about the purpose of the New India Making and the responsibility of each and every citizen for making India a great nation. He narrated the commitment of Central Government for the welfare of farmers and talked about various schemes and programmes initiated by the Government and hoped that these programme will ensure doubling of farmers’ income by 2022. He showed his concern on the problems faced by the farmers of the region in general and Bareilly in particular. He urged scientists and agricultural department officers to work hard to transfer the new scientific technologies to the fields in participatory mode.

The minster along with all participants took pledge that by 2022, we build a New India towards a clean, poverty-free, corruption-free, terrorism-free, communalism-free and casteism-free India for a strong and self reliant nation.

On this occasion, Sri Dharmendra Kashyap, MP, Aonla spoke about the importance of Sankalp for the development of the country.
Dr. Rajkumar Singh, Director, ICAR-IVRI, Bareilly spoke about various burning issues in agricultural sector including ways and means of increasing the farm income.

Dr P V Jaganmohan, Commissioner of the Bareilly Division briefed about the agricultural development programmes being implemented for the agricultural development and welfare of the farmers on the directives of the central and state government.

Over 1200 farmers and farm women participated in the event.

The scientists and KVK specialists deliberated technical lectures on different aspects of crop and livestock management.The programme was also attended by Dr B S Prakash and Dr. Sanjeev Saxena, Assistant Director Generals from ICAR Headquarters. The District Collector of Bareilly Sri R Vikram Singh, Dr Satvir Singh, Joint Director of Agriculture and several officials of state departments of agriculture, horticulture, Animal husbandry and other departments were present in large number.Dr Mahesh Chander, Head, Div of Extension Education & Organizing Secretary of the Programme thanked one and all for making the event a
