Agriculture Education Day was jointly celebrated by ICAR - Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal and Bhopal Chapter of the Indian Society of Soil Science.
Prof. D.L.N. Rao motivated the young students with his scintillating lecture on opportunities and new avenues in agriculture. He urged the students for opting agriculture in their higher studies/profession.
Prof. Sunil Kumar Gupta, Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi Pradyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal inspired the students to work for the society and the downtrodden. He also emphasized on the need for attracting the youth and the students towards agriculture as a profession and a career.
Earlier, Dr. A.K.Patra, Director, ICAR-IISS illustrated the mandates, objectives and activities of the institute and called upon the students to study hard and join agriculture as a profession for the benefit of farming community.
Students visited Soil museum and participated in Elocution Competition & Quiz contest.
Fifty students comprising 9th to 12th standard from different schools of Bhopal participated in the programme.
