The Executive Development Programme on Leadership Development for Research Managers (EDP I of 2023) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research concluded at ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management,
Rajendranagar, Hyderabad concluded today.

Earlier, Dr M V Gupta, World Food Prize Laureate, and Padma Shri Awardee, inaugurated the progarmme on 22 May 2023. He stressed the emerging challenges in thence leadership and the need for convergences of different stakeholders and nurturing multidisciplinary teams for better research outputs.
Dr Ch Srinivasa Rao, Director NAARM complimented the participants during the valedictory programme for the successful completion of the training programme and requested to translate the learnings into action.

The capacity building programme was organised from 22-27 May 2023, with major emphasis on cross-learning from other Scientific Organizations viz., DRDL, CSIR, ISRO, NIAS apart from HRM outbound exercises viz., Collaboration, Leadership attributes and Team building. The participants were also exposed to Administrative and Financial Management in ICAR and Happiness and well-being with Yoga classes. A special session on practical aspects of dealing with parliamentary affairs is also included in the training curriculum.
During this EDP, MoU was exchanged between a-IDEA, Technology Business Incubator of ICAR-NAARM and ICAR-Institutes.
The programme was organized for 21 Research Managers encompassing four ADGs of ICAR Head Quarters and 17 Directors of ICAR institutes across the country spanning from states of Nagaland to Kerala.
The programme was coordinated by Dr G Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director and Dr. D Thammi Raju Principal Scientist.
