ICAR– National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) has organized an Executive Development Programme on Leadership Development for 25 newly recruited Research Managers comprising five Assistant Director Generals and 20 Directors of various ICAR institutes, representing all SMDs (Subject Matter Divisions) from 21-26 August 2023.
Dr Jacqueline d’Arros Hughes, Director General, ICRISAT participated in the inaugural programme on 21st August, 2023 as Chief Guest. In her address, she embraced all the facets of leadership from Mahabharata to New Age Leadership and Management and tenets of effective leadership.
Dr Ch Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM urged the participants to nurture the positivity in leadership to enhance the efficiency of the organisation.
The valedictory programme was graced by Padma Sri Dr M.V.Gupta, World Food Prize Laureate and Former Assistant Director-General, World Fish Center (CGIAR), Penang, Malaysia, held on 26th August, 2023. Dr Gupta emphasised the tangible research outputs, outcomes, their socio-economic impacts, quality of research and linkages with stakeholders.
Dr G Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director and Programme Director urged the participants to take the key learnings further in enhancing the efficiency of their organisations.
