ICAR-NBFGR conducted a 10-days hands-on training programme on 'cytogenetic and genotoxicity assessment markers' under the guidance of Dr. U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR- National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow during 06-15 June 2023.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. S. D. Singh, former ADG, Inland Fisheries, ICAR, New Delhi.
Dr. U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow emphasized the crucial role of cytogenetic and genotoxicity assessment markers in fisheries which may help in predicting the unsafe zones for fish biodiversity in the context of climate change. Studies using these markers can enrich the knowledge database of potential water bodies.
Total no of 13 participants including scientists, professors and research scholars from various organisations attended the programme.
