National Workshop on FRP inaugurated at ICAR-CIFA

The All India Coordinated Research Project on PEASEM Centre at ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha organized the National Workshop-cum-Hands on Training Programme on “Design and Development Process of Agricultural Gadgets in FRP” from 15th to 16th July, 2022.

The Chief Guest, Dr. R.K. Singh, Project Coordinator of AICRP on PEASEM, Ludhiana, Punjab highlighted the usage of plastics in improving the agricultural production across the sectors like field crops, vegetables, fruits, fisheries and animal production, etc. The need for putting more efforts to make the technology available to the needy persons and standardize it as per the Indian conditions was stressed by Dr. Singh. 

Dr. Saroj Kumar Swain, Director, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar underlined the Institute’s achievements in the application of plastics in aquaculture.

Dr. S.K. Jena, Project Coordinator, Coordinated Research Project on Water, ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar, Odisha emphasized on the use and usefulness of plastic lined ponds in the agriculture sector of the country.

Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. B.C. Mohapatra, Principal Scientist & Principal Investigator, AICRP on PEASEM, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar underlined the role and significant achievements of the AICRP Centre at ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar and the design of the Course Curriculum for the training.

The Workshop registered participation by the participants from 12 States & Union Territories (Odisha, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh and Jammu & Kashmir).
