Bhopal, 6 August 2016.
With the aim to create awareness among the Extension Officers on recently developed engineering technologies to facilitate their promotion and enhance mechanization in Indian Agriculture, one week Sensitization Workshop-cum-Training on‘Recent Agricultural Engineering Technologies’ was organizedfrom 2 to 6 August 2016 for SMS of Krishi Vigyan Kendras and Extension Officers of Madhya Pradesh (6); Rajasthan (3); Uttar Pradesh (9); Punjab (2); Chhattisgarh (7); Tripura (3); Himachal Pradesh (2) and Haryana (1) at the Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering (CIAE).Dr K. K. Singh (Director, CIAE Bhopal) urged the extension officers not only to promote CIAE developed agricultural engineering technologies for production and post-production agriculture to facilitate enhancing farmers income but also to provide feedback to CIAE on researchable issues and technology gaps.
At the valedictory function Shri Rajeev Choudhary (Director, Agricultural Engineering, Government of Madhya Pradesh) the Chief Guest, distributed certificates to the participants. In his address hestated that 174% increase in agricultural mechanization in past decadehas been the key to increased agriculturalproductivity and growth rate in Madhya Pradesh which has won the Rashtriya Krishi Karman Award for the third consecutive time.
