ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research, Jodhpur organised a two-day training programme for Nodal Officers of Krishi Vigyan Kendras under National Mission on Oilseeds & Oil Palm (NMOOP) during 27-28th January 2017.
Dr SK Singh, Director, ATARI, Jodhpur in his introductory remarks stressed on the maximization of production and productivity of oilseeds per unit area. KVKs play key role in enhancement of oilseed production through cluster frontline demonstrations of improved oilseed technologies, he added. He emphasized on need for farmers participatory approach for demonstration of improved oilseed technologies. He appealed to nodal officers from KVKs for critical need and gap analysis of the oilseed technologies in the locality in participatory way for effective implementation of the mission.
The major objective of training was to enhance the production and productivity of traditional oilseeds through application of usable technological packages for particular farming situation.
A total of 20 Nodal Officers from KVKs of Rajasthan and Gujarat participated.
