“Integrated farming system approaches for sustainable hill agriculture under changing climatic scenario” concluded

ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Tripura Centre   organized a ten-day (28 October 2015 to 06 November 2015) short course on integrated farming system approaches for sustainable hill agriculture under changing climatic scenario from under NICRA for the researchers and extension functionaries working in ICAR Institutes/ CAUs/ KVKs/ SAUs and State Departments.

There were 31 deliberations from the resource persons from IARI (New Delhi), ICAR (Barapani), ICAR (Manipur), BCKV (West Bengal), CAU and State Departments covering various aspects of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries.

There was one field visit to expose the trainees to the practices of integrated farming system approaches. The course immensely helped the participants to better understand the impacts of climate change on agriculture and to formulate adaptation and mitigation strategies for sustaining the production of agriculture and allied farming under changing climatic scenario.

Dr. M. Datta, Joint Director (ICAR) welcomed all the participants, delegates and elaborate the importance of integrated farming under climate change scenario to bring prosperity in the livelihood improvement of farmers.

Twenty seven participants (Agriculture-10, Horticulture-3, Home science-1, Veterinary-8 and Fisheries-5) participated in the programme.
