Four-day “Trainer’s Training on Scientific Backyard Poultry Farming for Anganwadi Workers of Nagaland” (22nd June – 25th June 2016) was organized by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre and KVK Dimapur in collaboration with Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre.
The chief guest of the event, Dr. Zubeni Tsanglao, IFS, Assistant Forest Conservator, lauded the efforts of ICAR Nagaland Centre for transforming the life of rural tribal folk of Nagaland. She urged the participants to spread technology learnt to the rural farmers. She emphasized on adoption of scientific technology developed by ICAR Nagaland Centre for enhancing the meat production in the Nagaland state to achieve the self sufficiency in this area.
Addressing to the participants, Joint Director, ICAR Nagaland Centre emphasized upon the Entrepreneurship development in the field of poultry and piggery in Nagaland. He further elaborated the various strategies to be adapted for mitigating the climate change effects on livestock.
The chief guest distributed the Vanaraja and Srinidhi day old chicks to the participants.
About 30 Anganwadi workers from Kohima, Medziphema, Diphupar and Dimapur were participated in the training programme
