Call for Commercialization of Jute Technologies

Sh. Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Member of Parliament (RS) and Member, National Jute Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, Kolkata visited ICAR-NIRJAFT, Kolkata today. He visited laboratories and workshops of the Institute and interacted with scientists and staff. He appreciated the achievements of the Institute in this sector.

Sh. Roy expressed concern about the lack of initiative on the part of the Jute industry to come forward with commercialization of the technologies and machinery developed by the Institute. The basic objective of his visit was to explore the possibility of human resource development, skill enhancement and business development by small scale and tiny sector industries through Agri-Business Incubation Centre set up by the Institute.

Dr Debashish Nag, Director, ICAR-NIRJAFT presented an overview of the activities and major accomplishments of the Institute.
