ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal celebrated its 41st Foundation day by organizing a two-day program (15-16 February, 2016).
Shri Rajeev Choudhary, Director, Agricultural Engineering, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal was the Chief Guest on 15th February 2016 which was celebrated as Farmers’ day. Speaking on the occasion Shri Chaudhary appreciated the contribution of farmers and entrepreneurs in agricultural mechanization due to which Madhya Pradesh has been awarded with Krishi Karman Award for the 4th time.
Dr. KK Singh, Director, CIAE Bhopal lauded the efforts of farmers and entrepreneurs for enhancing mechanization in agriculture and assured of full support of ICAR-CIAE.
Dr. AK Patra, Director, ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Sciences, Bhopal highlighted the importance of soil testing in increasing the farm production.
Dr. VP Singh, Director, ICAR-National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases, Bhopal emphasized the role of animal husbandry in agricultural development. He also pointed out that many areas related to animal husbandry need engineering intervention in India.
Around 400 farmers from different parts of Madhya Pradesh participated on this occasion. Seven Farming Innovators and seven successful Agri-business Entrepreneurs, operating Custom Hiring Centres after their training at CIAE Bhopal, were felicitated for their outstanding achievements leading to agricultural mechanization.
Dr KK Singh while addressing the gathering on Institutes Foundation Day (16th February 2016) appreciated the efforts of all the staff involved in bringing the institute to the current shape and hoped that the progress of CIAE would increase by leaps and bounds.
Former Directors, Scientists and Staff of the Institute were present on the occassion.
