Two-day Zonal Workshop for Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) of Rajasthan and Gujarat states was organised by ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur at ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute (ICAR-CAZRI), Jodhpur.
Dr CB Pandey, Chief Guest of the inaugural session and Director, ICAR-CAZRI emphasised that KVKs are the mirror of any institute for display of latest agricultural technologies. He opined that the implementation of the programs must be carried out through Panchayat level. He appealed to adopt the social apps for the faster diffusion of innovations in changing climate situation.
Dr P.P. Rohilla, In-charge, Director, ATARI informed that 2825 demonstrations on pulse crops covering an area of 1130 ha have been allocated under National Food Security Mission in Rajasthan and Gujarat states for enhancing the productivity.
Dr S.J. Singh, Director, Rajasthan Agricultural Research Institute (RARI), Durgapura, appealed the researchers to develop the genotypes which enhance the nodulation 15 days before flowering.
Dr VK Pandey, Joint Director, Extension, Jodhpur said its a timely initiative for enhancing the pulse productivity in the zone. He also viewed that the losses due to yellow mosaic virus in the pulse production is a matter of concern.
Senior officials of KVKs, State Agricultural Universities (SAUs), State Agriculture Departments and delegates from related organisations participated in the event.
