Indian Council of Agricultural Research celebrated ‘International Yoga Day’ on 21st June 2016. ICAR Institutes across the country organized Yoga Sessions as per Common Yoga Protocol provided by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
International Yoga Day was organized at Symposium Hall, NASC, New Delhi. Instructors from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga demonstrated various Yoga asanas. Dr. Gurbachan Singh , Chairman, ASRB was present on the occasion.
ICAR-Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune and ICAR- Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Training and Education Center, Pune
On the occasion,Yoga experts from BKS Iyengar Institute of Yoga, Pune explained about the importance of yoga and informed us the common protocols to be followed while performing yoga.
All the scientific, administrative and temporary staff of ICAR-DFR and ICAR-IVRI, TEC, Pune together performed yoga on this occasion
ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi
Dr. Bijendra Singh, Director, ICAR-IIVR welcomed all the staff and emphasized on the importance of daily practicing yoga. Various exercises were demonstrated and conducted by Yoga expert. This progarmme was celebrated at ICAR-IIVR regional center sargatia, Kushinagar and three ICAR-IIVR KVKs also.
ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow
Dr. Ravindra Kumar, Director (Acting), welcomed the participants and Team of Yoga Instructors. Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Branch- Lucknow demonstrated various Asanas and Pranamayas. All the staff members of the Institute participated in the occasion.
ICAR-Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore
On the occasion Yoga Session was conducted under the guidance of eminent Yoga experts from of Yoga Kendra, Barrackpore based on the Common Yoga Protocol provided by Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. Earlier, on 20th June, 2016 a Workshop on, “Health benefits of Yoga” and a practice session was also organized. Staff members of ICAR-CIFRI and their family members attended the program.
ICAR-Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune
Dr. Jai Gopal, Director briefed on importance of Yoga. Yoga lesson was delivered Yoga Instructors from Patanjali Yog Peeth Various yoga asans were performed by the staff members under the supervision of the yoga instructors.
ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries, Bhimtal
Yoga, Asan, and Pranayam as per Common Yoga Protocol were demonstrated and explained to the staff and students. An invited lecture was also organized on the topic Importance of Our Ancient National Treasure “YOGA”.
ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar
Yoga practice was conducted for two days by Yoga Instructor from Patanjali Yog Samiti, Bhubaneswar on 17th and 18th June 2016. On 21st June 2016 mass yoga was performed as per the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) as issued by Ministry of Ayush, Government of India. In a workshop on , Dr. S. K. Ambast, Director, ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneswar welcomed the guests and briefed importance International Yoga Day. Dr. H. P. Singh, former DDG( Horticulture), ICAR, New Delhi and former VC, RAU, Pusa were the Chief Guest of the programme.
