Her Excellency, Mrs. Margret Alva, Governor of Rajasthan visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Dungarpur. She had an interaction with a group of farm women participants of tailors’ training at KVK, Dungarpur. Mrs. Alva appreciated the skillful designs prepared by the women participants and encouraged them to have such more vocational trainings. She also discussed about the role of improved agricultural technologies and its future course of action in the development of tribal areas.
Dr. O.P. Gill, Vice-Chancellor, MPUAT, Udaipur briefed about the various schemes of providing improved breeds of poultry and goat to tribal people for earning their source of livelihood. He highlighted the significant achievements of KVK, Dungarpur and different activities carried out by the KVK. He also pointed out that vocational trainings could play a significant role in women empowerment, as majority of the farm as well as household activities are carried out by farm women only.
Dr. I.J. Mathur, Director Extension, MPUAT, Udaipur and University and State Government officials were also present on this occasion.
