The 53rd Foundation Day Celebrated at CSWRI, Avikanagar

Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute (CSWRI), Aviakanagar celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day on 4th January, 2014. Padma Bhushan Dr. R.S. Paroda, Former Director General, ICAR; and Shri Arvind Kaushal, Additional Secretary, DARE and Secretary, ICAR delivered the Foundation Day Speeches. Dr. Paroda focused on research in the field which are directly related to farmers’ interest as well as general importance. He also stressed that we should feel pride about the germplasm diversity and survivability and in varied climatic condition viz., tropical to temperate climatic conditions.

In the presidential address, Dr. S.M.K. Naqvi, Director, CSWRI briefed about achievements of the Institute and its future plan.

Over 200 farmers, out of them 50 were women and 25 tribal farmers from Dungarpur tribal area of Rajasthan attended the programme. Progressive farmers and outstanding employees of the institute were awarded on the occasion.

M/s VRC Services Inc. awarded an ISO: 9001-2008 certificate to the institute for Conducting Basic and Applied Research, Training on Sheep and Rabbit Production, Health, Utilization, Extension and Transfer of Technologies to the Beneficiaries for a period of three years with effect from 30th December, 2013.
