CAFT Short Course on Animal Nutrition Completed

Center of Advanced Faculty Training (CAFT) in Animal Nutrition, IVRI completed 41st advanced short course on ‘Nutrition, Productivity and Product Quality in Farm Animals’ held during 11th February to 3rd March, 2014.

Dr. Arvind Kumar, Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR graced the valedictory function as Chief Guest. In his interaction with the course participants, Dr. Kumar highlighted the importance of animal welfare and ethics in livestock production. He also received feedback from the participants of the short course. He distributed certificates to the 19 participants from different state veterinary and agricultural universities and Krishi Vigyan Kendras of the country who completed the training successfully.

Dr. R.K. Singh, Director, IVRI briefed the gathering about the training programme and highlighted the important role of nutrition in farm animals. Dr. Singh also said that the focus of nutritional management should also take care of health and welfare of the farm animals.
