Regional Training and Awareness Program on J-Gate@CeRA Organized

The Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture (DKMA) of ICAR and Informatics organized a one day training and awareness programme for Library Incharges and Nodal Officers, CeRA of ICAR Institutes/SAUs/KVKs of northern region of India. Dr. R.C. Agrawal, Registrar General of Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmer's Rights Authority, India addressed the gathering as chief guest. He applauded the role of CeRA in facilitating online access of research journals across stakeholders. He urges researchers to utilize this platform as its potential.

Dr. Rameshwar Singh, Project Director, DKMA, in his welcome address, highlighted the contribution of CeRA, which is in transition phase. CeRA is poised to play a more vital role in disseminating the online access of Journals to researchers of NARES institutions. He emphasized the strengthening of CeRA through enhancing coordination between stakeholders and other consortia.

Dr. H. Chandrasekharan, Former CPI, CeRA presented journey of CeRA, lesson learned and way forward.

Dr. Ratnakar, Consultant, Education and Training Informatics, Bangalore gave overview of the training programme.

CeRA was established in November, 2007 under NAIP Project. It facilitates the online access of selected journals to researchers, administrators and extension specialists in National Agricultural Research and Educational System through IP authentication. The activities of CeRA are now entrusted to ICAR-DKMA from 1st July 2014 after successful completion of NAIP Project.
