The World Water Day-WWD 2015 was celebrated at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (ICAR-IISWC), Dehra Dun on 22 March, 2015. Dr NK Sharma, In-charge Director, inaugurated the day long events of exhibition, technical interactions on the theme of water and conservation.
Students, faculty members and the participants raised many relevant questions of water management during the interactive discussion with the scientists and recorded their positive impression on the outcome of the Day.
At the end, the participants were sensitised on the nationally on-going Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to maintain cleanliness of the premises for the benefit of environment and health. Integrated watershed management, water harvesting for sustainable agriculture production and environmental improvement, integrated uses of water resources through suitable integrated farming technologies for ensuring improved water productivity and rural livelihoods were highlighted during the event.
Over 150 Post-graduate students and faculty members from Dolphin University, Doon Agriculture College and BFIT, Dehra Dun, Scientists, Technical officers and other staffs of the IISWC attended the program.
