Training Programme on “Ornamental Fish Culture - A Source of Income Generation” organized

4 - 5 March, 2022, West Sikkim

The ICAR-Directorate of Coldwater Fisheries Research, Bhimtal, Nainital, Uttarakhand organized the Training Programme on “Ornamental Fish Culture - A Source of Income Generation” from 4th to 5th March, 2022. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Government of Sikkim at Mabong Village (West Sikkim) under the North-East Hills activity.

Inaugurating the programme, Shri M.B. Rai, Gram Panchayat President, Mabong underlined the role that the ornamental fisheries could play in enhancing the livelihood of the local inhabitants.

Shri Lobsang Tamang, Deputy Director of Fisheries (West Sikkim), Government of Sikkim highlighted the important role that the ornamental fish culture could play in the development of Mabong, one of the remote Villages of Sikkim.

A total of 25 farmers attended the programme.
