Workshop on “Commercialization of Yak Based Products” organized

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Yak, Dirang, Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with the ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata organized the Workshop on “Commercialization of Yak Based Products” today.

Delivering the inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. D.B. Shakywar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata underlined the prospects of Yak Fibres and their opportunities for developing the Entrepreneurships.

Shri Dorjee Phunsto, Joint Director, Department of Textiles and Handicraft, Government of Arunachal Pradesh marked his presence as the Guest of Honor during the occasion.

Dr. M. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NRC on Yak, Dirang highlighted the scope of the Yak based Products for their commercialization.

Dr. A.N. Roy, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata delivered the Lecture on “Problems and Prospects of Business in Yak Fibre-based Products”.

Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. D. Medhi, Principal Scientist, ICAR-NRC on Yak, Dirang briefed about the Workshop.

Around 76 participants including two Development Officers of Textiles & Handicrafts participated in the Workshop.
