The Navsari Gujarat Research Centre of ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai organized the three-day Training Programme on “Brackishwater Cage Farming” at Navsari, Gujarat from 22nd to 24th March, 2022. The programme was organized in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries, Government of Gujarat.
Inaugurating the programme, Dr. K.P. Jithendran, Director, ICAR-CIBA, Chennai stressed on the significance of the training programme for the proper dissemination and adoption of the technology by the farmers.
Shri Pankaj Patil, Officer-in-Charge, NGRC, Gujarat briefed about the interventions and advances made in the cage farming by Institute in the West Coast.
A field visit to the Cage Culture Demonstration Site in Palghar, Maharashtra was also organized to impart the hands-on training to the participants during the occasion.
The programme aimed at imparting the technical know-how on the Brackishwater Low-volume Cage Culture to the Farmers and Entrepreneurs of Navsari, Surat and Valsad Districts of Gujarat registered participation by about 50 participants.
