ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research, Jodhpur organised a two-day training programme for Nodal Officers of Krishi Vigyan Kendras under National Mission on Oilseeds & Oil Palm (NMOOP) during 29-30th March 2016.
Dr SK Singh, Director, ATARI, Jodhpur emphasised on the importance of the seed as critical input in agriculture. He appealed KVKs to promote and produce the quality seed in participatory mode with the farmers and need to increase the seed replacement ratio with major emphsis on varietal replacement. Diversification of area from low yielding cereals to oilseeds crops is the need of hour, he added.
The major objective of training was to enhance the production and productivity of traditional oilseeds.
A total of 19 KVKs from Rajasthan and Gujarat have participated in this training programme.
