ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (IISWC), Dehradun organized a six-day Training-cum-Exposure Visit Programme on ‘Soil & Water Conservation Techniques’ during 27 May, 2015 to 1st June, 2015 in which 24 Agriculture Engineers posted in different districts in Tamil Nadu State participated.
During valedictory session, Dr. P.K. Mishra, Director, ICAR-IISWC suggested to adopt integrated watershed management approach. He said that all components need convergence and integration. Importance of conserving natural resources through integrated watershed management was advocated by him and advised the participants to give more thought on this mechanism.
The training programme was coordinated by Dr. Charan Singh, Principal Scientist, HRD&SS Division, IISWC, Dehradun. Er. R. Murugesan, Team Leader, appreciated the efforts of the institute in conducting the six-day training programme.
The training programme was sponsored by Chief Engineer, Agriculture Engineering Department, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
