Three-day (14 – 16 June, 2016) training of trainers on ‘Integrated Watershed Management Projects (IWMP)’ was organized at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun in collaboration with MANAGE, Hyderabad.
Dr. P.K. Mishra, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun, in his inaugural speech focused on the importance of different components of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY). He shared experiences of PMKSY implementation in different states and importance of the District Irrigation Plan (DIP). He also emphasized on the importance of agro-forestry into the hilly regions.
Dr. B. Renuka Rani, Asstt. Director (HRD), MANAGE, Hyderabad explained the course curriculum of the training programme. She shared key features of common guidelines under integrated watershed management programme.
About 40 officers participated in the programme.
