10th National Conference of KVK’s 2018 was concluded here today.
Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in his address, thanked the Hon’ble Prime Minister for laying the foundation stones of 25 KVKs and conferring Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Krishi Vigyan Protsahan Puraskar to KVKs. He emphasized that integrated farming approach is the most important tool to achieve the goal of doubling farmers’ income by 2022. Shri Singh urged to promote conservation agriculture, PMKSY etc. He congratulated the award winning KVKs and urged to come forward for the betterment of farming community by promoting FPOs and linking more farmers to e-NAM, secondary agriculture and off farm income. He said that due to the efforts of KVKs we are now almost self-sufficient in pulses production by producing 23 million tons of pulses in 2016-17.
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhwat, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, appreciated the KVKs for their constant technical support towards achieving the goal of Doubling Farmer Income by 2022 through implementing the farmer centric schemes and polices of Government of India in convergence with state departments. He urged the KVKs to encourage farmers to adopt farming of high value crops and new technologies.
Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) urged to strengthen efforts on post-harvest technologies and develop crop specific value chain to enhance income of farmers.
Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Special Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR) congratulated award winning KVKs and asked the KVKs to work on the points suggested by Hon’ble Prime Minister regarding doubling farmers’ income.

Dignitaries also released various publications on the occasion.
