A 9 Member Delegation led by the Provincial Minister, Shri Bijay Kumar Yadav, Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOLMAC), Government of Nepal was on its visit to the ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone - 1, Ludhiana, Punjab here today.
The delegation interacted with the Progressive Farmers associated with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra. They also showed keen interest in the various Demonstration Units, Technology Park, Rainwater Harvesting Structures & Micro-Sprinkler System, Machinery Unit, Biogas Production & Soil Testing Lab at the KVK. The Team Members discussed the various issues of mutual interests and benefits of the New Agricultural Reforms to be replicated in their country, especially, the Self-Help Group Model for Women Empowerment and promotion of Beekeeping at a larger scale.
Earlier, welcoming the Delegates, Dr. Rajbir, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana, Punjab apprised about the national scenario of agricultural extension system, particularly, in reference to the KVK System. The various activities carried out by the ICAR-ATARI and KVK in the North Zone for the farming community’s welfare.
The Team Members included Shri Mekh Bahadur Mongrati, Province Secretary, Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers; Dr. Namrata Singh, Province Secretary, MOLMAC; Shri Jageshwor Pd Yadav, Senior Fisheries Officer; Dr. Ratna Kumar Jha, Senior Crop Protection Officer; Shri Bijay Kumar Mahto, Chief Survey Officer; Shri Shankar Prasad Sah, Senior Agro-Economist; Shri Surendra Kumar Deepak, Personal Secretary and Shri Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Accounts Officer.
