Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra , Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) visited ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, today. He was accompanied by Dr Samra, Former, DDG (NRM) & Chairman RAC of ICAR-CAZRI, , Dr Bhaskar Reddy, ADG (NRM), ICAR New Delhi and Dr O.P. Yadav, Director ICAR-CAZRI, .
Dr. Mohapatra urged that, the KVKs should take initiatives for meeting the requirements of their districts in respect of livestock, planting materials, seeds, bio-products, etc. He also opined that the success stories of innovative farmers should be documented and farmers should visit the farms of innovative farmers so that the same can be replicated in the district as well in other adjacent districts. He emphasized upon commodity-wise mapping of the district by each KVK for significant contribution for the benefit of farming community in respect of seeds of crops, vegetables, fodders and planting materials of vegetables, fruits, forestry plants, livestock (cattle, sheep, goat, etc.) and poultry.
Dr SK Singh, Director, , briefed about the reshuffling of the Zones of s from 8 Zones to 11 Zones and he further informed that presently the ICAR- has three states (Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi) with 61 KVKs.
An exhibition was put up by KVK Badgoan (Udaipur) at premises where various technological inputs, poultry birds suitable for backyard poultry, milk by-products, horticultural plants prepared in nursery and different types of clothing prepared by the trainees were displayed.
