The a-IDEA, Technology Business Incubator of ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized a Sensitization Programme on “Entrepreneurship Sensitization Programme in Agriculture and Allied Sectors for the Students of Central Agricultural University, Imphal” today.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, Manipur accentuated on the promotion of export of agriculture products for developing the bio-economy while conserving biodiversity.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad emphasized on the importance of branding the region-specific organic commodities as part of Agri-preneurship. He also urged the students to take Entrepreneurship on a large scale in processing and value-addition of meat and fish products to achieve the nation’s objectives of doubling the farmers’ income.
Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad underlined about the Student READY and Start-Up Programmes.
Dr. N.A. Vijay Avinashilingam, Additional C.E.O., a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the need of Start-Ups in the developing country. He also outlined the importance of a-IDEA in incubating the Start-Ups in the Agri-ecosystem.
Earlier, in welcome address, Prof. Indira Sarangathem, Dean (College of Agriculture), CAU, Imphal stated that the North-East Region provides ample scope for Entrepreneurship due to its rich crop and biodiversity.
The programme was aimed at motivating the Students for Agri-preneurship.
About 290 Students and Faculty Members of CAU, Imphal participated in the programme organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” in commemoration of 75 Years of India’s Independence.
