The ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana celebrated its 98th Foundation Day today.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. B.N. Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR hoped that the Institute would continue to contribute to the progress of the dairy sector in the country. Dr. Tripathi recalled the contributions of the SRS of ICAR-NDRI, Bengaluru.
In his Foundation Day Lecture on “Contribution of Incubators to changing the paradigm of innovations in agricultural sector with special reference to livestock sector in India”, Shri R. Ramanan, Additional Secretary to the Government of India & Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, New Delhi hoped that the SRS-NDRI, Bengaluru would establish a world class Atal Incubation Centre at the earliest in its campus.
Dr. M.S. Chauhan, Vice-Chancellor & Director, ICAR-NDRI, Karnal stressed on the responsibility to work towards the betterment of the dairy farmers, especially, in the present crisis situation.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. K.P. Ramesha, Head of SRS of ICAR-NDRI, Bengaluru outlined the Institute’s contributions in the dairy sector of the country since its establishment at Bengaluru in 1923. Dr. Ramesha also highlighted the Institute’s association with eminent personalities like Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. V. Kurien.
Dr. R.R.B. Singh, Joint Director (Academics), ICAR-NDRI, Karnal underlined the ICAR-NDRI’s achievements and contributions in the dairy research and education.
The senior officials of ICAR Institutes participated in the Webinar.
