The ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bengaluru organized the Eighth Annual Review Meeting of Outreach Programme on ‘Monitoring of Drug Residues and Environmental Pollutants’ and Workshop on ‘Sampling plan for residue monitoring in animal products’ at its campus on today.
Dr. Ashok Kumar, ADG (AH & AN&P) in his inaugural speech highlighted the importance of the meeting that is helpful in discussing the measures for generating the data on drug residues and heavy metal contaminants in animals’ feeds and fodders, soil, water and subsequently in animal products namely milk, eggs and meat. He also emphasized on the current state-wise information on such drugs and environmental pollutants that are critical for policy makers for developing strategies regarding our animal products’ exports.
Earlier, Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta, Director, ICAR- NIANP welcomed the guests and participants.
Dr. B.P. Mishra, Joint Director (Research), ICAR-IVRI, Izatnagar; Dr. Aniket Sanyal, Joint Director, Regional Research Station, IVRI, Bengaluru and Dr. Jyoti Misri, Principal Scientist, ICAR, New Delhi marked their presence during the meeting.
Around 14 Project Investigators from different centres covering 14 states of the country participated in the Review Meeting.
