The ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner, Rajasthan celebrated the World Camel Day - 2022 to promote the Camel Husbandry in India.
The Chief Guest, Prof. S.K. Garg, Vice-Chancellor, Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner, Rajasthan urged the Camel breeders to produce more Camel Milk as its therapeutic / nutraceutical values is gaining momentum.
The Special Guest Shri Bhanupratap Dhaka, Deputy Director, Rajasthan Tourism, Government of Rajasthan stated that the Camel has a deep penetration in the socio-economic fabric due to its significant contributions in the culture of the State. He also stressed on the need for promoting the Camel for its multiple applications.
Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, ICAR-NRC on Camel, Bikaner expressed his concerns on the declining Camel population in the country and also the delineated possible reasons & approaches to overcome the declining trend.
Dr. D.K. Samadia, Director, ICAR-Central Institute for Arid Horticulture, Bikaner, Rajasthan and Dr. R.K. Singh, Dean, RAJUVAS, Bikaner, Rajasthan along with the Heads of ICAR Stations at Bikaner participated in the event.
