The ICAR-National Rice Research Institute, Cuttack, Odisha launched a Drive to Vaccinate (COVISHIELD) all its permanent and contractual employees and their family members.
The Institute partnered with the Cuttack Municipal Corporation for organizing the camps within the Institute campus. The Vaccination Drive included the students, field and other workers employed by the empanelled contractors.
In four camps (24th, 24th, 28th and 31st May, 2021), a total of 1,026 persons (between the age groups of 18 to 44 Years) including all the Officers of the State Agriculture Department, Cuttack, Government of Odisha were vaccinated, attaining almost 100% of target groups of the Institute.
Dr. Dipankar Maiti, Director, ICAR-NRRI stated about the Institute’s objective that aims at organizing more such Vaccination Camps to cover everyone associated with the Institute, particularly, of 45+ Years age group. The Director stressed that the ICAR-NRRI believes, “No one is safe until everyone is safe”. He emphasized on the Institute’s commitment for safeguarding all the members of the Institute.
