The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized a "Virtual Exploration-cum-Brainstorming Meeting" with the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun, Uttarakhand today.
Shri Bharat Jothi, I.F.S., Director, IGNFA, Dehradun, Uttarakhand envisioned the innovation and digital education as the key areas for joint action in short term. He also indicated that the IGNFA shall establish a Forestry and Agro-forestry Business and Technology Incubation Centre with the guidance and partnership of the ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the close linkages between the agricultural and forestry sectors and the benefits that would flow to the sectors due to the partnership. He also suggested that the Academy shall look forward to the expertise of IGNFA in expanding its reach and connecting with new clientele beyond the frontiers and also in organizing the international training programmes.
During the meeting, the initiatives undertaken by the IGNFA for internalizing the Integrated Government Online Training (iGOT) platform in its capacity building programmes and the programmes implemented under the Neighborhood First Policy of Government of India were presented.
The meeting was aimed at deliberating on the potential areas of partnership between the ICAR-NAARM and IGNFA as a part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between both the Academies.
The Directors and Senior Faculty Members of both the Academies virtually attended the Exploration-Cum-Brainstorming Meeting.
