Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Hon’ble President of India, inaugurated a Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The Union Minister for Science & Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, the Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, the Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Hon’ble President of India visited the startup stall of ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research. Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra accompanied the President.
The Start-up entrepreneur, Dr. Chaitra Narayanan, M/s Codagu Agritech from Kushal Nagar, Karnataka presented a brief summary about her initiative. The technology comprising encapsulating delivery of agriculturally important microorganisms (biocaspules), is a patented technology developed by team of Drs M Anandaraj, R Dinesh and Y K Bini of ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research is expected to herald a revolution in biofertilizer industry.
The Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (FINE) a week-long annual event is hosted at the Rashtrapati Bhavan from March 19-21, 2018. An exhibition associated with FINE has been organized to provide an excellent platform to innovators and entrepreneurs for building the linkages with potential stakeholders whose support can improve their prospects in coming years for the larger social good.
In line with the Government of India policy, the ICAR has evolved a fairly robust, support for technology incubation activity and nurturing the techno-entrepreneurs in a network of Agribusiness Incubation Centers established in 25 institutes, keeping in view the spectrum of technologies, available infrastructure and the core competency of the institutes. Seventeen of these enterprises have been invited, along with the hand-holding ICAR institute, to showcase their products in the FINE.
