Padma Bhushan Dr. Manju Sharma, Former Secretary, DBT, Govt of India advocates novel technologies to meet the challenges of nutritional and livelihood security of the country. She was the chief guest for valedictory function of 108th FOCAR (Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Services) of ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad today. Speaking on this occasion, she emphasized that young scientists need to be proactive, alert and sensitive in science and technology development towards serving the farmers, particularly disadvantaged, small holders, women in tribal regions. Advocating the critical role of advanced technologies in Agriculture in meeting the challenges of hunger, malnutrition, health care, climate change under overall Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), she underlines the important role of ICAR-NAARM in research management, research policy and science communication strategies thorough Human Resource Development and bringing cross cutting departments, other academies overall development of Sustainable Agriculture.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM emphasized the role of foundation course in building career of young scientists of ICAR towards best research, technology development and dissemination in the country.
