ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun successfully concluded its two-day training program on "Scientific Mithun Husbandry for Enhanced Productivity and Profitability" today. This intensive session aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of farmers, focusing on scientific practices in Mithun farming for better productivity and sustainability.
Experts and scientists from the centre covered topics ranging from Mithun rearing practices, disease management, value-added products from Mithun, to breeding and entrepreneurial opportunities in Mithun farming.

Key highlights of the program included practical demonstrations on Mithun casting, restraining, and farm routines, along with discussions on breeding management and the importance of bull selection in Mithun farming. Participants also had the opportunity to interact with scientists, providing valuable insights into the future of Mithun farming.
The program was an excellent opportunity for farmers to gain hands-on knowledge and scientific insights, contributing to the development of Mithun farming in the region.
A total of 26 farmers from Kamjong District, Manipur participated in the program, which featured a combination of theory and practical demonstrations.
