6th – 10th January 2025, Hyderabad
ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture organised a 5-day training programme for tribal farmers from Adilabad District under TSP on millet-based secondary agriculture for sustainable livelihood from 6th-10th January 2025.
The Chief Guest for the valedictory session, Dr V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, addressed the trainees and received feedback from them. He spoke about the role of millet enterprises for entrepreneurship development.
The training programme was inaugurated by Dr P.K. Pankaj, In-charge, PME, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad, on 6th January 2025. During his inaugural speech, he emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship development in rural areas through millet-based activities.
Various topics like millet in nutritional security of households, value addition and processing for rural livelihood, soil management in millet cultivation, etc., were included in the training programme.
As a part of the training programme various exposure visits were conducted at ICAR-IIMR, ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, the millet processing facility of PJTSAU, and ICAR-Indian Institute of Oilseed Research, Hyderabad, for the farmers.
The training programme was attended by 34 farmers.
