ICAR – KVK Namsai, organises School Soil Health Programme

ICAR-KVK Namsai organised training on ‘Soil sample Collection, Testing and Generation of Soil Health cards’ at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mahadevpur in collaboration with District Agriculture Office, Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh, today. The Department of School Education & Literacy, Govt of India also launched a School Soil Health Programme in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, aiming to raise awareness among students about the importance of soil health for sustainable agricultural practices and Earth's well-being, with 8 schools in Arunachal Pradesh earmarked for the programme.

Dr. Madhumita Sonowal Bora, SMS Plant Protection, KVK Namsai briefed the importance of soil analysis, methods of soil sample collection, analysis, interpretation and generation of soil health cards.

 A total of 28 participants attended the programme.
