Agrinnovate India Ltd. Facilitates 13 Technology Transfer MoUs on ICAR’s 97th Foundation Day

In a major step towards strengthening agricultural innovation and promoting public-private partnerships, Agrinnovate India Limited facilitated the signing of 13 Technology Licensing Agreements on the occasion of the 97th Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Valued collectively at ₹1.7 crore, these agreements mark the successful transfer of advanced technologies developed by various ICAR institutes to industry partners.

The event was held at C. Subramaniam Hall, NASC Complex, New Delhi, and inaugurated by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The celebrations were also graced by the Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Bhagirath Choudhary.

Prominent attendees included Dr. M.L. Jat, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR); Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare; Shri Sanjay Garg, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR); Shri Puneet Agarwal, Additional Secretary (DARE) & Financial Advisor (ICAR); and Dr. Praveen Malik, CEO, Agrinnovate India Ltd. (AgIn).

The licensed technologies span a wide array of domains, including post-harvest processing and value addition, bioformulations, veterinary diagnostics and vaccines, precision agricultural machinery, crop science, and horticultural varieties. These innovations were developed under the robust framework of India’s National Agricultural Research System (NARS).

This initiative underscores the increasing industry demand for science-backed, scalable agricultural technologies and highlights ICAR’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation-driven growth in the agricultural sector. It also emphasizes the pivotal role of Agrinnovate India Ltd., the commercial arm of ICAR, in enabling the effective transfer of technologies from research institutions to farms and industries, thereby supporting entrepreneurship, employment generation, and increased agricultural productivity.
