ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun celebrated its annual day here today.
Dr Savita (IFS), Director, Forest Research Institute, Dehra Dun while inaugurating the day-long programme emphasized on the importance of managing soil, water and forest resources for the welfare of ecosystems that sustains all living creatures and biodiversity on earth. Dr Savita also highlighted the activities and targets of National Mission for Clean Ganga. She elaborated on various drivers of natural resource management, new areas of research and collaboration at various levels.
Earlier Dr PK Mishra, Director ,ICAR- IISWC provided an overview of the Institute activities related to research and human resource development
Dr NK Sharma, Chairman, Organizing Committee of the Function briefed various activities and achievements of the Institute for the year.
The continued efforts of the Institute in development and dissemination of technologies for conservation of soil, water and biological resources and their conservative utilization were discussed during the meet.
Various sports and cultural events were organized during the event.
