ICAR-DPR, Hyderabad celebrates 35th Foundation Day

The ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad celebrated its 35th Foundation Day today.

Prof. V. Ravinder Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, P.V. Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU), Hyderabad, Telangana marked his presence as the Chief Guest of the occasion. Delivering his inaugural address, Prof. Reddy applauded the ICAR-DPR’s contributions in the growth and development of the poultry production in the country particularly, the backyard poultry production through its varieties development, dissemination of improved chicken varieties and germplasm supply, etc.

Dr. R.N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR, Hyderabad underlined the Directorate’s evolution and its present status with the well-furnished labs and a Regional Centre at Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The Directorate’s additional mandate on capacity building and involvement in disease diagnosis & vaccine development for the poultry were also highlighted by Dr. Chatterjee.

The event registered participation by around 81 participants.
