Training for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Entrepreneurs concludes

A 10-day Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme in Medicinal and Aromatic Plants-X (EOPMAP-X) organized for the Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Entrepreneurs by the ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Research, Anand, Gujarat, through its Medi-Hub TBI Agribusiness Incubation (ABI) center from 2nd-13th January 2025, concluded today. Medi-Hub TBI is an agribusiness incubator (ABI) established under the National Agricultural Innovation Fund (NAIF), ICAR. The main objective of the EOPMAP-X is to accelerate business development in Medicinal and Aromatic plants (MAPs).

Training for Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Entrepreneurs concludes

Dr Manish Das, Director, ICAR-DMAPR, Anand, chaired the valedictory session and emphasized the importance of sustainably managing MAPs for business growth in the country. He stressed the need for good agricultural practices to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of medicaments used in finished products. He also highlighted the necessity of effective value chain management of MAPs for a profitable business. Dr Das urged the entrepreneurs to join Medi-Hub, a technology business incubator, to accelerate development in the herbal sector.

Various topics covering the scope and importance of MAPs, cultivation and conservation, value addition, botanicals, hydroponics/aeroponics, high-tech methods, IPR, financing, incubation support, import/export, and more were discussed.

A total of 11 participants participated in the virtual training programme.
