The Assam government has received a World Bank-funded project, 'Assam Fodder Mission', as part of the Fodder Resources Development Plan developed under NIAFTA of ICAR- Indian Grassland and Fodder Research Institute, Jhansi.
State officials are closely interacting with ICAR-IGFRI to implement a project, with officials from the Department of Agriculture and ARIAS society, Assam, visited the institute on November 17-19, 2023 and interacted with the Director, PCFC, Head of Divisions and other scientists.
Officials discussed the 'Assam Fodder Mission' project's action plan, scientific management strategy, and IGFRI support. They visited the research farm, technology demonstration block, and farmers' field for practical exposure.
The officials discussed the action plan for the project 'Assam Fodder Mission' and prepared a strategy for scientific management, also discussed the necessary support required from IGFRI. They visited research farms, technology demonstration blocks and farmers' fields of the Farmer FIRST programme to gain practical exposure. They propose a MoU with the institute and link entrepreneurs for fodder seed/plant material production.
