Dr. Himanshu Pathak Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) addressed a review meeting of the staffs of ICAR HQ, DARE, ASRB and Delhi-based ICAR Institutes on the occasion of New Year 2024 today.
Shri Sanjay Garg, Additional Secretary (DARE), Secretary (ICAR), Dr. A.K Singh, Director (IARI) and Smt. Alka Arora, Additional Secretary (DARE), Financial Advisor (ICAR) also graced the occasion.
Dr. Pathak said that ICAR has been successful in releasing about 300 varieties of crops for the farming community since last year out of which 219 varieties are climate resilient, 36 are bio fortified and 99 varieties of horticultural crops. He stated that ICAR has established IARl-hubs in 16 ICAR Institutes during this year. Dr Pathak emphasised that number of applications received in UG admission has increased to 110 applications per seat.
The DG further added that ICAR has been able to create and operationalize corpus fund and has adopted fund policy for corporate social responsibilities.
Dr. Pathak congratulated staff and the Scientists for their endless efforts and urged everyone to welcome the New Year 2024 by taking a pledge to make it an even more productive year by setting specific, measurable, achievable, and time-bound targets.
Under the fit India Movement a Cricket Match was also organised between ICAR HQ and IARI New Delhi.
ICAR Telephone Directory 2024 compiled & published by ICAR-Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture and the January 2024 issue of Kheti was also released on the occasion.
