The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, Maharashtra organized a Virtual Brainstorming Session on “National Education Policy - 2020: Developing the Future Roadmap” today.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. R.C. Agarwal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR & National Director (National Agricultural Higher Education Project), ICAR stressed on the importance of students’ holistic development for addressing the societal issues in a scientific manner and restructuring the Universities as per the NEP - 2020. The DDG outlined the different activities undertaken by the ICAR to formulate the guidelines for implementing the NEP - 2020 in the agricultural sector. Dr. Agarwal also advised to relook into the budgetary requirements for the different infrastructural developments based on the NEP - 2020 recommendations.

In his address, Dr. Gopal Krishna, Director, ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, Maharashtra highlighted the importance of NEP - 2020 in achieving the skilled manpower and creating a holistic educational ecosystem.
Dr. N.P. Sahu, Joint Director & Dean, ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai, Maharashtra accentuated the objective of the NEP - 2020 as a paradigm shift from “What to think” to “How to think”. He accentuated on the importance of technology-based education and introducing the “Green Education” in the syllabus for achieving the objectives of the NEP - 2020.
The Brainstorming Session was aimed at discussing the issues on developing the ICAR Deemed Universities to Multidisciplinary Institutions as per the NEP - 2020.
The staff members of the Institute also participated in the Brainstorming Session.
