An Awareness Programme on Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ri-Bhoi under ICAR Complex, Umiam along with the office of the BDO, Bhoirymbong C & RD Block with other line department Officials from Meghalaya rural bank, Deptt of agriculture & farmers welfare, Industries, Education, Health, Irrigation etc. of Ri-Bhoi District today in Block-1, Bhoirymbong Village.
Shri. R. Kharbuki, MDC, Umroi Constituency was the Chief Guest of the Programme.
Dr. Meghna Sarma Incharge, Head, KVK, Ri-Bhoi, urged farmers to practice Natural farming and urged them to test their soils for higher productivity.
Officers from line deptt elaborated and interacted with farmers on different central govt. schemes and policies implemented in the district.
The programme was attended by 220 farmers of Ri-Bhoi district, they also viewed the live telecast of VBSY Hon’ble PM interaction programme.
The farmers were distributed leaflets on topics on Natural farming, Soil health card, IFS and Nutrition garden.
