ICAR-National Research Centre, Pig, Guwahati, Assam celebrated World AMR Awareness Week (WAAW) from 18th – 24th November, 2023.
World AMR Awareness Week was successfully celebrated with a multidirectional awareness programme among institutional laboratory staff, researchers, farm occupational health workers, farmers, local meat shop keepers, veterinarians and college students.
Dr. Vivek Kumar Gupta, Director, ICAR-NRC, Pig, Guwahati, Assam inaugurated the programme and applauded for raising awareness of sparingly using antibiotics in farm animals.
Scientists from the organization actively raised awareness among laboratory staff, farm occupational health workers, students and researchers.
A total of 55 progressive pig farmers, the majority of whom are women farmers participated in the programme.
